The Z3 was the world’s first working programmable, fully automatic digital computer. The Z3 was built with 2,100 relays, implementing a 22-bit word length that operated at a clock frequency of about 5-10 Hz. Program code and constant data were stored on punched film.
This computer designed by Konrad Zuse was first presented to an audience of scientists on 12 May 1941, in Berlin. Today, 75 years and 1 day after the presentation, we celebrate the Z3 with a space level!
